§ 1-6. Amendment to Code.

  • (a)

    All ordinances of a general and permanent nature passed by the council subsequent to adoption of this Code may be numbered in accordance with the numbering system of this Code and printed for inclusion in this Code.

    (b)

    If an existing section is to be deleted, the following language may be used: "That the Code of Ordinances, Town of Irmo, South Carolina, be and the same hereby is amended by deleting section _____ which section reads as follows:…."

    (c)

    If an existing section is to be modified, the following language may be used: "That section _____ of the Code of Ordinances, Town of Irmo, South Carolina, be and the same hereby is amended to read as follows:…."

    (d)

    If a new section is to be added, the following language may be used: "That the Code of Ordinances, Town of Irmo, South Carolina, be and the same hereby is amended by adding a section, to be numbered _____ which section reads as follows:…."

    (e)

    Any provision repealed by subsequent ordinances may be excluded from this Code by omission from reprinted pages. Subsequent ordinances as printed or omitted shall be prima facie evidence of such subsequent ordinances until the council shall adopt a new Code of Ordinances.
