§ 30-82. Prohibited in specified places.

  • (a)

    Prohibited. Except at the direction of a police officer no person shall stop, stand or park a vehicle, whether occupied or not:

    (1)

    On a sidewalk;

    (2)

    Within an intersection;

    (3)

    On a crosswalk;

    (4)

    On any railroad tracks;

    (5)

    At any place where official traffic control devices prohibit stopping, standing or parking.

    (b)

    Additional prohibitions; exceptions. Except to momentarily pick up or discharge passengers, no person shall stop, stand or park a vehicle, whether occupied or not:

    (1)

    Reserved.

    (2)

    In front of a public or private driveway;

    (3)

    Within 15 feet of a fire hydrant;

    (4)

    At any place where official traffic control devices prohibit stopping, standing or parking.

    (c)

    Violation; penalty. Any person who stops, stands or parks a vehicle in a prohibited area within the corporate limits of the town shall be deemed to be in violation of this section and, upon conviction of such offense, shall be fined in accordance with the current fine schedule.
