§ 2-266. Authority.

The Irmo Okra Strut Commission shall have the authority to accept and receive donations of every kind and description given by any person to be used exclusively for the Irmo Okra Strut Festival. The commission shall also have full authority to enter into all contracts not exceeding $1,500.00 which are necessary to carry out the activities of the Irmo Okra Strut Festival, provided that the contracts shall be in accordance with any and all local and state laws concerning the entering of contracts. The aggregate total of contracts entered by the commission shall not exceed the budget submitted to the council. Contracts exceeding these limits must be approved by the council.
