§ 2-264. Duties and functions.

  • (a)

    The Irmo Okra Strut Commission shall be responsible for the planning, promoting, and directing of all activities related to the Okra Strut Festival events held in the town each year subject to town ordinances, procurement procedures, FOIA laws and town council directives.

    (b)

    [The] administrator [is] responsible for developing and distributing applications along with rules and regulations. Will provide coordination and resolve issues with all vendors (food, amusements, arts and craft), prepare and implement website data, marketing and the contract negotiations for transportation and support initiatives.

    The administrator will ensure the collection of all required fees and implement a plan to obtain the maximum sponsorships, donations and available grants and have a plan in place to accept and reply to all telephone and/or email communications. The administrator will coordinate and manage the site preparation, ensure the proper placement of vendors, oversee the festival and site cleanup.
